Babylon High School students Genny Gravina, Colleen McKeown,?Carolanne Murphy and Miranda Richards were selected to have their artwork displayed at the New York State School Boards Association conference, which will take place later this year in Rochester.
The NYSSBA conference will have an exhibit featuring some of the best student-created artwork from across the state. A reception will be held for the student artists and they will receive a certificate for their participation. The Babylon School District will also receive a seal of distinction for the students? artwork that was chosen for the exhibit.
?We are so excited to have had three students? artwork selected to be displayed at the NYSSBA conference,? said Babylon Director of Fine Arts Angela Turk. ?The district is extremely proud of these students? accomplishments. It is a highly coveted honor that recognizes some of the best artists in New York State.?
Babylon?s fine arts and music department also announced that Babylon High School students Samantha Gerdes, Kathryn Oman and Matthew Taggart were chosen to participate in the 2012 New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education/Suffolk County Music Educators Association?s High School All-County Music Festival, which will be held on November 16th at Northport High School.
